About this gig

  • I was honored to work in the model shop at Industrial Light and Magic (back when it was still part of the George Lucas Empire) for a few years. For this project I got to join an über-talented crew that included Carol Bauman, Grant Imahara, and Jamie Hyneman to create these two animatronic gopher puppets for ESPN. I also got to operate the fat gopher with Howie Weed. Mark Siegel and Carol Bauman operated the nutty-looking gopher.
  • I furred the hands and bodies and Carol did the faces. I also got to puppeteer, spending many long sweaty hours under the set with one of my all-time favorite pals, Howie Weed.
